McKinley wasn’t happy, to say the least…

Walking
William took his first steps around the end of May, when we were down in Utah. He kept taking more steps and getting braver and braver, and just after his 1st birthday, he was walking all over. I’ve been meaning to post a video of him doing it since then but seems like every time we try and video him he doesn’t cooperate. But finally caught him on camera walking for a few seconds.
And for some reason the video gets rotated after uploading it. Sorry about that.
Crawling
Well I knew it wouldn’t be much longer before he started crawling (see last post) but it kind of surprised how fast it was. But we officially have a crawler on our hands!
Christmas Eve musical performance
We always have a recital on Christmas Eve. There’s lots of talent in the Kotters/Fieldings and it’s nice to be able to enjoy that at least once a year. The kids sang I Am A Child of God, which Lucas didn’t want to but he did a great job. I think the favorite this year though was Jordan and Cahlin singing Nobody Likes Me, Everybody Hates Me. I’ve heard both Lucas and McKinley singing that since then, which I think qualifies as a success on Jordan and Cahlin’s part.
Rolling baby
William has now learned how to roll from his back to his stomach. He rolled the other way pretty early on, but just recently has he started rolling front to back pretty regularly. Apparently when Kryssi got him a few times last night, he was on his stomach. Next stop, crawling!
Oh, he’s also 4 months old today!
William is 1 month old (and rolling)
William is now 1 month old and still doing really well. The other night Kryssi had him on the floor on his stomach, and he rolled over to his back, which I don’t think either Lucas or McKinley did until they were 4 or 5 months. So I got out the camera and tried to catch it on video, which you can watch below.

McKinley Walking!
McKinley has been taking a few steps at a time for the last little bit, but since this last week, she has started officially walking! She doesn’t like to crawl anymore, unless she needs to get somewhere fast. She looks pretty cute, wobbling around, but she’s getting steadier each day.

On another note, I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this or not but we’ve noticed for awhile that Lucas has had this bump right above one of his eyebrows. He fell on it once and the swelling never went all the way down. So at his 3-year appointment, we mentioned it to the doctor and he said it was a cyst. So we went to an eye specialist to have it looked at, and he agreed that it was a cyst. He recommended getting it removed, as it will continue to grow as Lucas does, and could damage his vision.
So unfortunately there was no where around here to get the surgery done, so we found a place in Salt Lake. So this Wednesday is the initial appointment, and potentially the surgery could happen on Friday, depending on what the doctor thinks. So far it doesn’t sound serious, but any surgery is always stressful. So if everyone could remember Lucas in your prayers later this week, we would really appreciate it.

Jumping on the Bed
This is a video from a little while back, just haven’t got around to importing it and getting it posted. Shows how much McKinley likes to copy her big brother.

Lucas is 3! (Updated)
Well a week ago was Lucas’ 3rd birthday. I can’t believe how fast time flies! I don’t have our camera right now, as it is with Kryssi at the cabin, but I do have a video of Lucas opening one of his presents. I thought he’d be more excited, but oh well.
His birthday was on Thursday, and on Wednesday he had a little party with a group that always gets together and goes to the park to play. Then he had a lot of fun on his birthday, and then we had a party for him on Saturday at my parent’s house. I’ll post some pictures once I get my camera back.
