New Pictures

Well I can’t believe that McKinley is almost a month old already! I guess time really does fly when you are having fun. She has been such a good baby, maybe not sleeping as much as we’d like at night but nothing bad at all. She rarely cries unless she is hungry and Lucas has been such a great help and he loves his sister. I think his favorite thing to do is look at her and give her kisses. He is learning to be gentle with her so that is good.

McKinley has been gaining weight good, or at least at last check she was.  We had to bring her into the doctor at two weeks, and she was up to 6 lbs. 7 oz. I believe.  So after dropping under 5 lbs. when we brought her home, she has gained weight well.  If she keeps it up she’ll pass Lucas soon!

Our next step is to move her from her bassinet in our room to the crib in Lucas’ room.  I think that will be a little harder adjustment for him to have to share his room, but hopefully it goes over well.  I’m most worried about him bugging her and trying to play with her during the night.

Sitting in her chair. She loves this chair, especially since she has had a cold lately so she can breath better sitting up. Beautiful eyes. Lucas gets jealous of all the pictures of McKinley so I had to take this one of him.
Dressed up in a new outfit from Aunt Kara. Watching TV together. Lucas' new thing is to bring his pillow and blankets out onto the couch.
Proud mommy with her beautiful little girl.
Again laying with his sister. Lucas is such a good helper. He loves getting out the changing pad, wipes, and diaper when McKinley needs her diaper changed. Taking a rest with mom.

Bear World

On October 9th we went to Bear World with my parents.  They were having a discount that day and we thought it would be fun to get out and do something while the weather was still good.  We had never been to Bear World so it was a lot of fun.  After driving around the park and seeing the animals, they have a little gift shop, where we got free fudge samples, some carnival rides, baby bears, a petting zoo, and a place you can feed fish.

Lucas wanted to go on a train ride they had but first we took him on a car ride.  I was going to sit with him to make sure he was okay, but a girl, who looked to be at least in her teens, decided to take my spot so he had to ride alone.  Needless to say, he didn’t like it and was done with the rides after that.  But he loved feeding the fish and petting the animals.

McKinley enjoyed the whole trip. She just slept basically the whole time! An elk. They had a open roof caravan you could pay to ride in and they would throw bread to the bears, which seemed weird to us. Kryssi even swore she saw them throw powdered donuts.
A bear walked right in front of our car. Lucas wasn't too sure about sitting in front after that. Bear walking by my window. The car ride Lucas went on. Notice the girl that took my seat sitting behind Lucas. She seems a little old for this ride.
The car ride went in a circle but also up and down, which I think that is what scared him so much. One of the baby bears. Getting ready to feed the fish and ducks.
Such a cute baby bear. Bambi Black bear

Mesa Falls

Lucas and I went to Mesa Falls yesterday along with my family.  We went and fed the fish, then hiked along the old railroad tracks, had a picnic, went to upper and lower falls, and then stopped and got ice cream on the way home.  Lucas loved every second of it.  He hasn’t been to Mesa Falls since last year, and he enjoyed a lot more this time.  He ran almost everywhere we went, and he loved throwing rocks.

Looking at the fish in the water. Throwing some bread to the fish. Lucas loved doing this. Sitting on a big rock.
View from our hike up the old railroad tracks. Looking into the old tunnel. It has started to collapse so they've closed it off.
Lucas loved climbing on the rocks and throwing rocks. Trying to get him to look for a picture. It's a lot harder then you'd think! Lucas ran and skipped almost everywhere we went. I don't know where his energy comes from.
The upper falls. Looking at the big waterfall with Grandma and Grandpa.
Probably his favorite part was this drinking fountain. It would shott pretty high in the air.

Fun at the Zoo

We had fun with Jason and Kay and the kids home the end of July/First of August.  I didn’t get many pictures but one day we went to the zoo and I remembered my camera!  Lucas hadn’t been to to the zoo since last summer, so he loved being there.  The Idaho Falls zoo isn’t the biggest, but it’s great for kids since there isn’t as much walking.

Petting the animals. Looking at some animals. Not sure what birds these are but they look pretty cool!
Lucas was more interested in the animals then in pictures. Looking at the monkeys. The kids loved the monkeys, until one jumped at Lucas and then he didn't like them anymore.
I'm not quite as big as a golden eagle. All three kids looking at the birds. In the petting zoo. I wasn't sure Lucas would go in but he did. He was a little scared at first, because they all gathered around him.
Relaxing while watching some TV.

Lucas really misses his cousins Oliver and Abby.  He asks for them all the time, especially when we go to Grandma’s house.  It’s too bad we don’t live closer to them, but it was great seeing them while we could.

2 Years Old!

Lucas turned 2 on July 14th.  It was a fun day, as we had a party that morning with some of his cousins and then he got to go to grandma and grandpa’s house and play.  For dinner that night my mom was cooking on the grill, she looked down, and noticed a skunks tail under the grill.  Turns out a skunk was under there the whole time she was cooking.  We had quite an interesting night trying to figure out how to get the skunk out without having him spray the court, and we eventually got rid of him but he did spray.  Lucas got a little scared but I think it is a birthday he’ll never forget!

Getting ready to open his first present The proud mommy! We got him this Elmo toy that makes noise and he thinks it is a phone.
Opening another present. The birthday boy with all his stash. We did all our shopping at garage sales, and it was amazing the type of deals we found. We probably only spent $15, but he got more then enough. The birthday sign Kryssi made
We decorated the whole house with balloons. Lucas' room, decorated with balloons. Notice his new bed. The elmo cupcakes we made. They turned out okay.
All the party guests by our Pin-the-Tail on Bullseye game. Opening presents at his party. His new baseball bat.

Fourth of July!

We celebrated the Fourth in Utah this year, and we had a blast!  We got to go to the Stadium of Fire, where Carrie Underwood was performing, and it was a lot of fun.  Lucas wasn’t even scared of the fireworks, like I was sure he would be.  I just covered his ears the whole time and he was fine.  His favorite part was the flyover after the National Anthem.  He loved those airplanes!

Lucas and Kennedy playing in the water He got his face all wet Getting Grandpa wet
Kennedy had a scooter and Lucas loved playing on it. Spraying himself He needed a new swimsuit and he wanted the Spongebob one.
Trying to get Kayden wet The torch the scouts lit at the Stadium of Fire. Enjoying the show
Carrie Underwood performing Minature Golf. Lucas was actually pretty good at it.

Yellowstone

We went to Yellowstone the Saturday after Kendal’s graduation.  It wasn’t a very nice weather day, in the 30’s, rain and snow, but we still enjoyed it.  Lucas loved seeing the animals, even though the buffalo scared him somewhat.  He thought they were trying to get his food so Grandma told him that the buffaloes couldn’t have his food so we heard him say “No, no buffalo” the rest of the trip.

Kryssi and I went back home after dinner, since it was a long day for Lucas and for her.  The rest stayed and went to the Playmill.  Even with the bad weather it was still really fun.  Kryssi and I hadn’t been to Yellowstone in a few years, and it was Lucas’ first time, so it was nice to create more memories.  Maybe next time we’ll see a bear!

Buffalo on the road. We loved the babies the most. Up close with a buffalo. Close up of the baby.
Elk in the distance. Buffalo on the road. They got close to the van and scared Lucas. He thought they were trying to take his food. A waterfall.
It was cold and rainy most of the time but as long as we bundled up, we were fine! Mudpots Lucas and his buddy Kayden
Picture by the canyon Kennedy climbed up here so Lucas thought he needed to as well.
All of the kids in our usual picture spot. Family picture by the falls.

New Pictures

Here are just some random pictures I’ve been meaning to upload recently and haven’t had time to get to it.  I’m done with school now for the summer and am just working away.  I’m still doing the same work stuff, only expanded, plus I’m helping out with a website.  I also met with two different people this past week that wanted web work done so hopefully that pans out as well.  Needless to say, I’m just as busy if not more busy then I was during the school year.

Kryssi is doing really well being pregnant.  She struggled with being sick at first but she has done a lot better lately.  She’s been able to feel the baby move for a while, but I just felt he/she kick a few days ago, which was pretty amazing.  In about a week and a half is when she goes back to the doctor, and we get the ultrasound which should tell us if it is a boy or a girl.  Kryssi wants a girl and I’d be happy either way.

Lucas and Dad wrestling He wanted to sleep behind the couch, so we gave him a pillow and blanket. Didn't last long though.
This is Lucas' favorite shirt. He loves the red bike, as red is probably his favorite color and he loves bikes. Kryssi's Mother's Day gifts from Lucas. I got a license plate cover from EITC, and for whatever reason, probably only known to him, Lucas liked putting on his face and head.
His new haircut! I'll probably get blamed for it but Kryssi is actually the one that wanted it this short. The fort Lucas and I built. Lucas and dad in the fort.
He loves playing with his bouncy ball, or any ball really. He likes to have us hold our arms like a hoop and he shoots it. Playing in the fort. Trying to dress himself. He's actually taken all his clothes off before, when he was supposed to be taking a nap, and he put his shirt back on backwards and inside out, which was quite a feat.
Lucas loves running around in his diaper but it hasn't been warm enough to do it much. This is a picture Lucas took, with no help from anyone else. He saw me using the camera so he wanted it. I showed him how it worked and he started taking pictures on his own. He probably took 30 pictures of Kryssi, but some were actually pretty good.

Temple

Here are some of the pictures we had taken before we got sealed in the Rexburg Temple. It was kind of cold, but it wasn’t as bad as it could have been. There were multiple weddings taking pictures that we had to avoid, but they all had dispersed soon enough. Lucas was even pretty happy the whole time!

Picture our photographer took of the Rexburg Temple previously.

Feeding the Ducks

Well it has been starting to warm up slightly around here, so we went the other day to the greenbelt to feed the ducks.  There wasn’t many others there, but there were a ton of ducks and geese.  I couldn’t believe how many there were.  Lucas loved it.  I thought he might be scared but he loved throwing them bread.  That’s all he talked about the rest of the day (saying “Quack, quack” and showing how he threw the bread).  But we didn’t bring the camera.  So a few days later we went again.  This time there were a lot more people, and not very many ducks, since they were all in the water.  He still loved it though.

Lucas liked to eat the bread more then he liked throwing it. The ducks we were trying to get the attention of. Lucas couldn't get the bread fast enough.
The ducks were fine but the geese kind of scared us. Kryssi says there's never any pictures of me so I guess this proves her wrong! By the falls, with the temple in the background. Lucas was distracted by a dog that was by us.
Here's another picture of the temple. We were across the river from it. I got a new shaver so Lucas likes using my old one whenever I'm shaving. He dropped something behind the couch and found out he could sneak back there. Which reminds me I need to take pictures of our new apartment and post them.
He sure likes the pudding!
