Lucas Rolls Over!

Here is a video of Lucas rolling from his back to his stomach. He needs a little motivation to do it in this video but he is now rolling almost everytime we put him down. It is impressive but since he doesn’t know how to roll back, he starts crying until we rescue him. Changing his diaper has become more of a task as well!

Back From Thanksgiving!

We spent Thanksgiving in Utah with family and it was a lot of fun.  I forgot to take any pictures though, so I’ll have to get some from my mom to post on here.  But Lucas did learn a few new tricks during the Thanksgiving break, which is pretty neat.  First he learned how to roll from his back to his stomach.  He has rolled from his stomach to his back a few times but he hasn’t really gotten the hang of it but this he is starting to do pretty regularly.  We actually just caught him doing it on tape, so once I have some time to edit it, I’ll put it up here.

And next, which isn’t as impressive, he learned how to spit and blow bubbles.  He has done it a lot before but he learned how to do it whenever he wanted, and he apparently wants to do it a lot!  It was a good thing we packed a lot of onesies.  But it was a good holiday for us and hopefully for everyone else as well.

Fall in Idaho

I decided to rake up some leaves while over at my parents house and my mom had the idea of sticking Lucas in them and taking some pictures.

He looked pretty cute sitting in those leaves but he wasn’t to sure about it.

Sitting with dad after all the leaves had been raked up.

He finally decided he wanted to try and see what those leaves tasted like.  Luckily mom was right there to hurry and reach in and take those away!

4 Months Old!

Lucas turned 4 months old today and he had his 4 month doctors appointment.  He weighed 11 lbs. 15 ounces, so he is close to doubling his birth weight.  And he was 25 1/4 in. long.  So he is in the low end for weight but high end for his height.  But the important thing was that he was healthy.  The doctor said he looked great so we were happy.
He was also given some shots, which wasn’t too much fun.  He actually handled it pretty well, but I think his mom struggled with it.  His leg is a little swollen now but he seems to be okay with it all.  The doctor said we can start feeding him a little rice cereal each day if we want to, so that ought to be fun to try.  I think he will probably just spit it out but I guess we’ll see.

Here’s Lucas on his 4 month birthday.  Pretty cute!

Go Cougars!

Just to let everyone know, I have gotten a cable for our video camera which means I will be posting videos shortly.  I just have to go through and edit the ones I think are interesting enough to post on here and then I will start putting some up.

On a side note, Lucas rolled over from his stomach to his back on Friday.  It was a pretty exciting moment for his parents.  Kryssi put him down on his stomach to get some tummy time and she looked up at the tv and when she looked down, Lucas was on his back.  She was a little sad she missed his first roll over but we put him back and his stomach and he did it again.  It was too bad I didn’t have the camera or I would post a video of it, and so far we haven’t had any luck catching it on tape.
And on a personal note, I don’t understand how BYU can win their game this week, and win big, and yet they drop a couple spots in the BCS rankings.  It doesn’t seem to fair to me, especially when there are 6 teams in front of them with 2 losses, while BYU only has one.  But hopefully they can win there last two games and maybe get a little lucky and get into a BCS game.  I guess we can always hope.

Go BYU!!!

First Two Weeks

Here are some pictures of Lucas during the first two weeks of his life.  It is amazing to think he was ever that little, since he seems so big now!  But I know this pictures are old but I figured most of you have never seen them, so I decided to post them anyway.
Also, Lucas has his 4-month doctor’s appointment next Friday, so I’ll post some updates on how that goes and everything.

Update

Well I have a short update today.  Lucas had a WIC appointment today and they weighed and measured him.  He came in at 11 lbs. 9 ounces and he was 24 in. long.  So he is still in the lower percentiles for his age, weight and length, but he is growing steadily, which is good.  They also said he could start eating some rice cereal when he turns 4 months, which is in ten days, so that is kind of exciting.  I don’t know if we’ll try it then or wait, but he is growing up so fast!

Also, I heard that people weren’t able to post comments on the blog but I think I figured out the problem and got it fixed.  So go ahead and post any comments you have, and if it still doesn’t work, let me know.  My email address, as well as Kryssi’s, is in the right sidebar.  Thanks!
Make sure you get out and vote, if you haven’t already.

Halloween!

Lucas was a little young to actually go trick-or-treating but his parents still thought it would be fun to dress him up.  We found this Winnie costume on sale at Toys-R-Us for only $5 so we figured it was worth it to see how cute he would be.
So mom and Lucas dressed up and went to see Grandpa and Grandma Kotter and Gregory, as well as Great Grandma and Grandpa Fielding and Paul and Julie.  Everyone thought he was pretty cute and I think he enjoyed being dressed up, at least for a little bit.

Blog Info

So my plans for this blog, at least for now, is to go back and post pictures from when Lucas was born until the present day, and then just keep current with pictures, videos, etc.  I figured most of the pictures and video we have no one has seen, so we might as well post it.  But at the same time when we get new pictures (like the Halloween ones we will get tonight) or new information, I will post that shortly after it happens.

Why do I bring this up you ask?  Well I just wanted to explain why you might see pictures from the past, and then recent ones, and then old ones again.  Either way you’ll stay updated on everything you could ever care to know about us and some you probably don’t really care about.  But hopefully you’ll enjoy it.
So I’ll be posting some Halloween pictures probably tomorrow and once I get a cable to connect our video camera, I’ll post some videos.  I also will have a post soon (hopefully) on an easier way to keep track of our blog and it’s most recent posts.
Hope everyone has a happy and safe Halloween!
