Move!

Sorry for the lack of posts lately but we’ve been pretty busy lately.  For those that haven’t heard, we moved a week or so ago.  We are still in Idaho Falls, just a much nicer apartment in a different part of town.  It’s much bigger, has a dishwasher, washer/dryer hookups, a garage, plus it is an upstairs apartment.  We are really enjoying being in a nicer place and our neighbors seem to be a lot better as well.  Once everything is moved in and put away, I’ll post some pictures of it.

For those that want it, our new address is this:

1545 Laprele St. #69

Idaho Falls, ID  83402

Update

Lucas is now 18-months old!  It is pretty exciting.  It is fun to see him learn and grow.  He seems to change everyday, and his vocabulary just keeps growing.  Unfortunately he still is pretty small, as far as his weight goes anyway.  For his checkup the doctor set us up with some tests.  We had to go to the hospital and do some three different tests.  It was a pretty stressful day for us, but luckily nothing bad was found.  So hopefully he can start gaining weight faster then he has.

Lucas has learned how to drink out of a real glass!

Christmas 2009

We had a wonderful Christmas!  We are very blessed to be a family and we were even more blessed with all the stuff we got.  We got way to much but Lucas had a great time, which is what was most important to us.  He loved opening presents, and he was really good at it.  He would get distracted easily but any time we gave him another present to open, he opened it.  It was a great time!

Lucas looking at the blocks he got from Santa! Playing with the trucks that came with his blocks. Grandma and Lucas looking at his new coloring book. Kryssi getting ready to look in her stocking! Lucas opening up one of his presents. Playing with a Superman car he got from Grandpa and Grandma Looking at his custom ABC book from Grandma Having fun with his blocks Looking at the cats on Christmas morning Probably his favorite toy he got, the wooden tower. All our loot after opening it.

We’re Back!

I don’t know if anyone has tried to access this blog over the last week but we have been down.  I tried to manually upgrade WordPress and I have had issues getting it to work.  But I finally had some time this morning to work on it and everything is back up and working.  I have some videos that I will try and post later.  Hope everyone is having a good Christmas season!

A Years Difference

We are loving the Christmas time. Lucas is just so excited and he loves all our decorations, our tree, and especially the lights. He loves the lights and the tree in his room and he wants them both on all day. It is just amazing what a difference a year makes. Last year Lucas wasn’t even crawling really yet, and now he is in to everything and he wants to help out with everything.

Last year:

Christmas 2008

This year:

Christmas 2009

It is a lot of fun but it seems like he is growing up way to fast! Plus he seems to have got into the terrible twos like 7 months early. He seems to find all the ways to get in trouble and yet he always thinks it is so funny. Most of the time you can’t help and laugh with him, even if you are mad.

Christmas Decorations

We decorated for Christmas for FHE yesterday.  It was a lot of fun and Lucas loved helping decorate and he loved all the lights.  He helped decorate the tree but we had to help him hang the ornaments or he would just throw them at the tree.  We put a fiber optic tree in his room and some lights and he loves it.  He goes in there and lays on the floor and just stares at the lights.  He gets so excited!  We can’t wait for Christmas to come!

Lucas and mom hanging up an ornament Putting up my ornaments that I've had for years Lucas going through all the ornaments We had to help him a little bit to get the ornaments on Sitting in front of the completed tree! Playing with the nativity Grandma Kotter got him He loves giving kisses to all the characters in the nativity, even the animals! Our Christmas tree! Our stockings hanging on the wall

Halloween!

We waited a little too long to get pumpkins so the only place that had them was Albertsons and they were expensive, so we only got one. But Lucas loved playing with it before we carved it.

He kept trying to pick it up!

I didn’t think he would like cleaning it out but he loved helping us clean out all the pumpkin guts.

Helping mom

Our finished pumpkin!

He liked the pumpkin until we were done and put a candle in it and light it up. He was scared of it after that.

Lucas was Superman this year for Halloween. Here we are getting ready to go to the trunk-or-treat at my school on Friday.

Ready to get some candy!

On Halloween we had some black hair spray we used in Lucas’ hair. He didn’t like it so he wouldn’t sit still so it didn’t turn out to good but it was better then nothing.
We went to Macy’s on Saturday morning because they were giving away $10 giftcards to the first 100 people and we were going to stay for their Halloween stuff. They were doing a costume contest and only one other kid was there, but they weren’t really organized so we eventually left because Lucas was getting tired.
We went later to Toys-R-Us but we got there to late. So later we went to the mall to trick or treat. It was pretty crowded but I think Lucas enjoyed it. We then went out to the trunk-or-treat that my parent’s ward and the other two wards in their building were holding. There was a lot of cars, so Lucas got a ton of candy (yeah for the parents!). It was a little chilly but not to bad. He was pretty tired from all the walking so Grandpa carried him most of the time but I think he enjoyed it.

Recent Pictures

Lucas is getting bigger and bigger every day. It is amazing to see his progress. He has learned a lot of new words, basically anything we ask him to say he’ll try and say it. We got a prescription for PediaSure and he drinks two of those a day so we are hoping they will help him gain some weight.

I just took a certification exam for one of my classes, Inter-networking Technologies. The exam is the CIW Foundations Exam, and once we pass it, we don’t have to go to class again. So I was excited to get it done, especially since there is still a month and a half of school left. I was worried I wouldn’t pass though and then I would have to pay to take it again, which it costs $150, so I was really glad when I did pass. It gets me my CIW Associate Certification and it is 1/3 of the way to me getting my Master CIW Designer Certification.

Lucas likes trying to get other peoples’ shoes on. He is always grabbing our shoes and bringing them over to us.

He saw a blanket in his hamper so he decided to lay on it. He stayed there for quite awhile!

He loves looking into the oven when the inside light is on. He’ll sit there looking at the food cooking saying “Yummy” over and over.

Getting to eat a sucker after lunch.

He saw his pacifier between the wall and the crib so he crawled under his crib to get it out. He has done this before but I think this was the first time he actually crawled back out, instead of getting stuck there.
