Corn Maze

McKinley wanted to go to the corn maze for her birthday, so that’s were we headed that night. The corn maze closest to us has all kinds of stuff to do: a mini zip line, multiple inflatables, a “train” to ride, slides, sandbox, and the corn mazes themselves.

Atlanta

This last week I spent in Atlanta, as part of a company meetup. We only get together the full company once a year, so it’s a fun time to get to see everyone in person. Atlanta was definitely as hot and humid as advertised but didn’t take too long to get used to it.

I didn’t have a ton of free time to sightsee, but the last day there I did take a tour of the CNN offices, as our hotel as part of the CNN building.

Fair

We haven’t gone to the East Idaho State Fair the last few years, as I really don’t like the crowds, but we decided to brave it this year. The kids loved seeing all the animals, they loved asking us to buy them everything they saw, and they enjoyed an animal show we got to watch (with sea lions).

Crowds weren’t too bad until about dinner time, but we lucked out and got ourselves a table, which made things a lot easier.

The other day our cat jumped onto my lap, while holding Samuel. She snuggled up to him and started licking his feet. He kept grabbing her fur and pulling it and trying to get it in his mouth, but she was super patient and loved him.

Mesa Falls

We decided to stop at Mesa Falls on the way home from Island Park. We had been here not too long ago but we ended up not staying long as it was raining and lots of mosquitoes. We always love seeing the waterfalls though, so we make it a habit to come here often.

Island Park / West Yellowstone

The weekend before school, we decided to rent a cabin for the weekend in Island Park and spend a few days relaxing. I had plans for a bunch of things to do, but a lot of it ended up not happening (do to poor planning on my part, like not getting tickets soon enough for the Playmill). But we had fun being outdoors, going to the Bear and Wolf Discovery Center, walking around West Yellowstone stopping in all the shops (especially the candy store) and being together as a family.
