Doctor Visit

Lucas fell on the ice playing football during recess one day at school. His arm/shoulder was hurting him so he called to have us come get him. After getting him home, it was obvious he needed to go to the doctor. After waiting there, getting x-rays and waiting some more, turns out he had dislocated something in his shoulder area (doctor told me what bone it was but I don’t remember). He popped in back in pretty easily and it was mostly painless. It was a long time at the doctor for a 10 second process to pop it back in, but thankful it wasn’t something more serious.

Christmas decorating

We normally wait until the Monday after Thanksgiving (our FHE activity) to get out all our Christmas decorations and put them up, especially the tree. William was anxious this year to do it sooner, so we ended up decorating the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Playing with some of the Christmas stuff we got out
Sam wanted to help, though it was mostly him wanting to climb on the stool
Utilizing a stool to get decorations at all levels of this big tree
Sam definitely is a lot more handsy than our other kids have been. Everyday I’m putting ornaments back on the tree

Finished tree
This was a beautiful Christmas sunset

Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving this year, we stayed here in Shelley. We had Thanksgiving dinner with Kryssi’s family. They invited a lot of her dad’s side (some people that I didn’t even know) and so we ate at the church, since we had a group of about 50. It was a good meal, though always chaotic with that many people.

We didn’t do much else during the break. Went and saw Coco as a family on Friday, which has always been a tradition since I was younger, to go see a movie over the Thanksgiving holiday. But other then that and a little shopping, we mostly were at home, enjoying spending time with each other.

NYC

I had a chance the end of October to go to New York City to meet with a new client for a couple days. I’m not a big fan of traveling by myself but it was fun to be in NYC. I didn’t have much(really any) time for sightseeing, but I did try and walk around each morning and take in what I could.

The hotel we stayed in was just a couple blocks away from Central Park, so I walked there one morning, stopping to get a bagel, and ate that in the park (figured that was a pretty New York thing to do). I was impressed, even though it’s such a big city, with how many trees and other greenery there is. I expected it to be more of a concrete jungle but was pleasantly surprised. Not sure if the entire city is like that, maybe I just lucked out where we stayed.

Our hotel was right across the street from this fire station
Loved seeing all the trees in the midst of all the concrete
Outside the American Museum of Natural History one morning
I love the look of these buildings. Also, saw lots of Halloween decorations

SeaWorld

Our last full day in San Diego we went to SeaWorld. I think this was my favorite of all the places we went to. Had lots of animal exhibits, fun shows, some rides and kid play areas, so a little of everything. It was also the least crowded of the places we went, so I enjoyed that.

They have these pools right after you enter that you can touch any of the creatures.
SeaWorld was all decorated for Halloween
Checking out the dolphins
This was a mild ride that took you to the top of a tall tower, allowing you to see all around
Watching an otter get a snack

Playing in some water

Waiting for one of the shows we watched. We saw a dolphin show, an animal show and the orca show. We got pretty soaked in the dolphin show

This was as we left. Lucas was still pretty wet from one of the rides we went on
