Christmas decorating

We normally wait until the Monday after Thanksgiving (our FHE activity) to get out all our Christmas decorations and put them up, especially the tree. William was anxious this year to do it sooner, so we ended up decorating the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Playing with some of the Christmas stuff we got out
Sam wanted to help, though it was mostly him wanting to climb on the stool
Utilizing a stool to get decorations at all levels of this big tree
Sam definitely is a lot more handsy than our other kids have been. Everyday I’m putting ornaments back on the tree

Static hair
Came upstairs after putting the kids to bed one night to see this raccoon eating the cat food. Our cat just sat there and watched him.

Samuel isn’t crawling yet but he rolls and scoots around. He ended up making his way over to the tree and started messing with the presents and ornaments
He actually ended up grabbing his own present and started trying to rip it. I guess being curious about your Christmas presents starts young!
We got our cat Grey a pet bed for Christmas and the kids couldn’t wait to give it to her. She instantly curled up in it and has loved it ever since. And she normally isn’t in the house but since we went through that cold spell where temperatures were in the negatives most of the day, she stayed in the mud room for those few days (but she is outside again now, though she’s not happy about it)

Snow

We got hit with a pretty big snowstorm this past Friday (biggest in a decade they said). They were predicting an inch or two of snow and we ended up with about 8 inches. We lost power at one point for a bit but luckily only for an hour or so.

The next morning we woke up and it was -18 outside, so we got tons of snow then really cold temperatures. School ended up being cancelled Monday because it was so cold, so the kids loved that. It has warmed up now but the roads are still pretty bad, because it isn’t warm enough yet to melt it.

I figured mom and dad would like these pictures, as I don’t think they’ll be seeing any snow for a while, or temperatures nearly this cold. We are happy though to have a white Christmas.
