After Christmas fun

Going in for her hernia surgery
Ready to start work on his dig set
Trying to find all the treasures

Playing some new video games
Showing off his new pajamas
Playing in the igloo they built
Grandma and grandpa sent some money for the kids for Christmas, since sending presents from the Philippines isn’t easy. We took the kids to the store to pick out what they wanted. Sam found this ride on car on clearance at Walmart and he loves it
William picked out some Transformer toys
Lucas trying out his stuff. Spoiled kids

December fun

Making some pizza for dinner
McKinley teaching the FHE lesson
Gingerbread (graham cracker) houses

Someone liked eating the candy as much as the decorating

We finally got enough snow to make a snowman
Finished product
Having lunch with McKinley at her school
The letter to Santa McKinley wrote at school
Helping out with the gingerbread activity in McKinley’s class
Finished product

Opening a little present that Kaitlin sent

Aquarium

We decided to head to the aquarium on President’s Day, since the kids were out of school and I didn’t have to work. A new aquarium opened fairly recently in Idaho Falls and we decided to go check it out. It’s definitely a work in progress and not nearly as nice as larger aquariums, but it was still a lot of fun and they had quite a few hands-on exhibits, which the kids liked.

Checking out the lizard the mermaid was holding
Kryssi was brave enough to hold the snake, at least long enough for a picture

Sam really liked these big fish
Feeding the lizards

February Fun

Author Gary Hogg visited Lucas’ school a few weeks back (something he does every year). He holds an assembly and then does a writing workshop with the 4th graders. He chooses a few of his favorite stories that were written during this workshop (kids have 5 minutes to write a short story) and he holds a family presentation that night to read those and discuss some other things about writing.

Lucas’ story was chosen, so we ran from his basketball practice to the presentation. He was pretty proud of being able to go up front and have his story read, and he did a great job on it.

Valentines Day

Found this giant card at Walmart and knew I had to get it for Kryssi
Candy bar bouquet, the only good bouquet
I made these heart shaped chicken hand pies for dinner

January Fun

Basketball has started again. Both McKinley and Lucas are playing this year again.
McKinley scored the first points of the game/season. So far she’s done a lot better then last year
Lucas also scored the first points of the game/season. He scored more points in his first game then he probably did all last year. Had to teach him to pass the ball more though, so his teammates have more opportunities, but he did better his second game.

Playing a dancing game
Celebrating Kryssi’s grandpa’s birthday
Trying out his new bed
All the other kids wanted to try it too
