Kryssi’s Birthday

We decided to go down to Utah for a few days, and it just so happened to coincide with Kryssi’s birthday (I know, quite the coincidence).  So I took a few days off work, and we made the technically-not-too-long-but-with-kids-it-seems-extremely-long drive down to Julie and Jill’s.

While there, we celebrated Kryssi’s birthday, went shopping at IKEA, Costco, Hobby Lobby, went bowling, and just relaxed.  We had a nice day on Kryssi’s birthday, with Kaitlin coming and joining us, Jill taking us to Los Hermanos, Kryssi getting embarrassed because they sang to her, a nice dinner made by Jill, and then Jordan and Cailin joining us for cake and ice cream.

Our last day there we went bowling, since it happened to be some sort of World Record day, trying to get as many people in the US to go bowling that day, so it was free.  The guy at the bowling alley didn’t seem to know what we were talking, but it said online that particular bowling alley was participating, so he relented.

It was a really fun trip and Lucas tells us constantly how he misses his best buddy Kayden.

Opening her presents.  Amazingly she held off on opening them until that afternoon.  Usually she wants to open them the second she gets up!

Having some birthday cake.  We couldn’t fit all 24 candles on here without starting a fire (Just kidding!  But you are getting old Kryssi!)

Getting a wagon ride around the block.  He was able to convince both Savanna (or banana as he calls her) and Jill to take him on rides.  Spoiled kid, since at home he just has to walk on his own when we go on walks.

McKinley and Kayden at the bowling alley.  She loved being with Kayden probably just as much as Lucas, which is saying a lot!

My less-than-perfect form.  But I did get probably my best score I’ve had in a while, which was enough for me to be champion of the day.

The Cabin (well not really)

This past weekend we had our annual Fielding family reunion, up at a cabin in Palisades.  We have never gone before, other then for a few hours, but we decided to go up Friday afternoon this year.  Well Kryssi decided at the last second she wanted to go sooner, so she hitched a ride with my grandparents and went up Wednesday evening.  I rode up Friday afternoon with my parents and we came home the next day.  It was a lot of fun boating, playing, eating, and enjoying nature.

But Kryssi only took one picture, as she said the memory card was full on our camera.  I don’t know why she couldn’t have just deleted some pictures, but oh well.

Hanging out with Savanna (or banana as Lucas calls her).  I guess McKinley wasn’t too happy the first day, and only wanted to be with mom, but she got over that and had a great time with all the attention she got.

Since this is the only picture we have, I decided to put a few others up that have all been taken in the last few months.  So enjoy!

She loves playing with my printer.  Don’t you love her innocent look?

Sibling love.  Lucas loves holding his sister, and he has to be reminded constantly to be gentle with her.

Crazy hair! She loves doing this squinty eye face, where she scrunches her nose and squints her eyes. It’s pretty cute.  See the next picture for a better idea of what I mean.

4th of July

I know it’s a little past due but I figured I’d post some pictures from the 4th.  We didn’t do much, as I worked until the Friday before but luckily I did have the 4th off.  We went to the Idaho Falls parade that morning, which turned out to be really nice, as we got there early enough to get a good parking spot as well as a nice spot to sit.  We went to my parent’s house for the afternoon of the 4th, and played with some water balloons and water in general.

They have the big fireworks show here, put on by Melaleuca, and it is pretty close to our apartment.  So we decided to just stay home and watch from our front lawn.  It wasn’t the best view, but it wasn’t bad, and it was a lot better then dealing with the traffic.  We had neighbors doing fireworks till 1 in the morning, which was not fun, but I guess that’s what you get on the 4th of July!

Sitting in the camp chair, waiting to party.

Filling up some water balloons.

Pretty girl all dressed for the fourth.

Lucas loved throwing the balloons and watching them explode.  He would throw them a lot faster then we could fill them up.

Birthday Pictures

As promised, here are some pictures of Lucas’ birthday.

Getting ready to open some presents.  The first thing he wanted to do that morning.

Spongebob cake that Grandma made for him.  It was pretty cool, and tasted amazing.

Playing pin the tie on Spongebob.

Kryssi made the Spongebob out of some poster board and the kids all had a turn to try and put the tie on him.

The obligatory birthday sign.

Well I believe I’ve already said it before, but I can’t believe Lucas is now 3 years old.  It makes me feel a lot older then I really am.  It has been a great three years and we are so lucky to have Lucas in our family!

Crafty K

So I believe I’ve mentioned a few times that Kryssi wanted a site to try and sell some hair bows and other things she makes and I’ve taken my sweet time getting it done, but I believe it is ready to go.  So go and check it out: www.craftyk.net.

Please let me know if you notice something that looks wrong or doesn’t work.  I try and check every site I build as much as I can, but there are always bugs that I don’t notice.

May Update

The weather here still hasn’t warmed up, and we have had rain all day today, and it looks like tomorrow will be the same.  I have work off so we were hoping to be able to do something fun, but with the weather not looking good, I’m not sure what we’ll find to do.

McKinley is getting closer and closer to crawling.  She can now get up on her hands and knees, and she rocks back and forth.  She has taken a few kind of ‘steps’ but usually just falls back down on her belly.  But between her army crawling and rolling, she basically can get herself around the entire room.  But I’m sure any day now she’ll be able to crawl.

We found a high chair that just attaches to a normal chair, kind of like a booster seat with a tray.  She absolutely loves it.  The other high chair we have takes up a ton of space, as well as it is hard for her to sit up in.  So this was a good find.

I bought a new grill, as the one we had was just a cheap, portable charcoal one.  I was going to just buy another cheap little one, but figured it would only last a summer so I might as well invest in a nicer one.  We bought it from Lowes, and they would have put it together for free, but it wouldn’t have fit in our car.  So I had to put it together myself, which took a couple hours to accomplish.

Finished product, other then I put the front panel on the back, which I still need to switch.

There was a bunch of styrofoam pieces that came in the grill box, and Lucas knew just what to do with them: build a ramp for his cars.

Cute girl trapped in her crib.

Taking a bath together.  We finally got this blue bath seat from my parents house, and McKinley loves baths even more now that she can sit up and splash.

Enjoying the Warm Weather

We’ve had some really nice weather the last few days here, high 70’s and not too windy.  And it looks like it is going to be 50’s and rainy for at least the first part of next week, so we’ve been trying to enjoy the nice weather while it lasts.

We went to a farmer’s market that is pretty close to us.  There really wasn’t much to look at, but it was nice to get out.  We found this hat on clearance at The Children’s Place.

Lucas always wants to wear my sunglasses, and they had kid glasses at The Children’s Place, so we had to get him some.

Taking a break from playing with bubbles for a picture.

Back To Utah

Just a day or two after getting back from Utah, Kryssi decided to take the kids and go with my mom to Lehi.  Lucas loves playing with Kayden and Kennedy, so he was excited to go.  But after a few days away from his dad, he was ready to be back home I think.  He had a little bit of a melt down when I called him the second night he was there, wanting to be back in Idaho with me.  But all-in-all, I think they all enjoyed it.

I guess this was a gummy octopus that Lucas ate the legs off, which he thought was pretty cool!

Brother and sister playing together.  I think Lucas is having more fun than McKinley!

Cute girl!  She is getting closer and closer to crawling.

Lagoon

As mentioned previously, my work provided a day at Lagoon for all employees and their families.  So last Saturday we got up early and made the drive down.  It was a beautiful day, which we haven’t had many of those yet this year.  Lucas didn’t go on many rides, which we figured, but he had a lot of fun.

Lucas was pretty excited about getting a stamp.  He thought he was pretty cool with it on his hand.

One of the few rides Lucas went on, the Merry Go Round.  He was even hesitant about this ride, but we convinced him he would like it, and he did.

They have a couple of these cool water sculptures around the park, and Lucas liked playing with them.

Taking a break in the Western town.  McKinley was pretty good during the trip, but she liked being carried more then being in her stroller.

We decided to spend the night and extend our mini ‘vacation.’  We won a bid for a hotel in Salt Lake that we weren’t too sure about, but it ended up being really nice.  They had tempur-pedic beds, which I loved.

The view from the top of the stairs, looking down into the lobby of our hotel.  It is an older place that has been renovated a few times.

Checking out the water fountains at the Gateway Mall.  Lucas wouldn’t dare get in them, but he liked watching them.

We stopped at Temple Square before heading home.  It wasn’t quite as good of weather as the day before, cloudy and rainy, but the morning wasn’t too bad and there were plenty of pretty flowers to look at.
