Family fun day

After fishing, we stopped by Snake River’s Landing, as they were having a Family Fun Day. They were doing some family bike rides which we were going to participate in, but had no way to get all our bikes over there.

But they had a teddy bear clinic, where the kids got to choose a teddy bear, give him/her a name, then go through multiple stations, helping the teddy bear after he got in a bike wreck.

They also had lots of little games you could play to get prizes, free lunch, bouncy inflatables, and a bull ride.

McKinley really wanted to ride the bull, so we waited in line for quite a bit and then I think she was a little scared, but had fun anyway.

Father and sons

Lucas and I went to the Father and Sons campout a few weeks ago which was pretty fun. We’ve never had a ward that has actually done one that we were aware of, so it was nice to finally get to be part of one, as I have lots of good memories growing up going to Father and Sons campouts.

Lucas and I went on a couple hikes, played catch, had s’mores, saw a moose, and Lucas got to play with some of his friends. Our bishop gave a little thought at the end of the night around a big fire, which was a great way to end the day.

Mesa Falls

We went to Mesa Falls over Memorial weekend. It has been raining here for the better part of a couple weeks, so we weren’t sure the weather would hold up. It did rain a little on us at times but the worst of the rain happened while we were in the lodge at Mesa Falls, so we just barely missed it.

Park City

We went to Park City for a few days a couple weeks back. We wanted to do something before Lucas started school again and I needed a break from work. We had fun being in the mountains, riding the gondola, hiking, paddle boating, swimming, exploring and being together as a family.

40 horse cave

About 3 weeks back we went up to 40 Horse Cave, with the Gregory’s. It’s been a long time since I’ve been there, and we’ve never been with the kids. It’s actually quite a steep hike, so it was an adventure getting up, with William in the backup and helping kids at the same time.

Ammon Days

So it’s probably been about a month now, but a while back we went to Ammon Days. They had a free breakfast, that was actually really good, lots of booths that had free things, like snow cones, face painting, balloons, candy, etc. They had some games set up that you could play and win prizes. They also had a ping pong ball drop, where some of the balls had prizes on you could win (we didn’t win anything, but the kids loved running around catching as many as they could from the helicopter).

T-Ball

We signed up Lucas for t-ball this year and he just had his first game. So far he’s only had one practice, as a couple others got cancelled and he missed one when we were in Utah. So we weren’t sure exactly how well he’d do but he did great.

Most of the kids didn’t hit the ball very far, so unless you were the pitcher, catcher, or first baseman, you didn’t do much when in the field. Luckily his coaches moved people around each time, so he eventually got to play catcher and participate a little more.

He also got to hit the ball a couple times. The first hit I think was the best hit out of anyone the whole game. He was super excited by the time he got back to home base. But he had a lot of fun and made some new friends, which at this age, that’s all that this is about.
