Temple Open House

The Idaho Falls Temple open house has been going on for a couple weeks now. We got the opportunity to go just a couple days after it started and it was great. It was nice to be back inside the temple, as it’s been closed for quite a while for renovations. It was also really awesome to take our kids inside and let them see it.

It was a very rainy day but the temple was still beautiful

Easter

We had a good Easter this year. We started with a Easter egg hunt at Taylor park. There was a decent amount of people but nothing as crazy as the city hunts, so that’s good. They had it separated into various age groups as well, which made it nicer. It was sunny but really cold, but the kids loved it.

Then we spent the day at the Gregory’s, having lunch, dyeing Easter eggs and doing another Easter egg hunt. The kids got pretty spoiled with all the candy they got.

About a month ago, I came into his room and he was standing up. He pulls himself up on everything now.

Kotter Farm

So we decided recently to get a few chickens. The idea was to start small and maybe grow it in the future. Thought process behind it was to take advantage of all the open land we have out here and use that land to actually produce some things.

We also bought a cow but that is currently pastured at Kryssi’s parents and will stay there. In the (potentially near) future, talked about getting bees next and maybe a pig or two (Kryssi’s sister and brother-in-law raise pigs) but we’ll see where things go.

Same chicks as in the above picture but 3 weeks old now

Our cat was also pregnant and we came home from a baby blessing a few weeks ago to her having kittens right outside the back door. It was an exciting time for the kids and we were a little worried that everything would go okay, but she has been a great mom. So currently we have 4 little kittens, though I’ve already told the kids (and Kryssi) that we aren’t keeping them all.

Samuel’s 1st Birthday

We celebrated Samuel’s birthday a week early, since we had some family in town and figured he wouldn’t know the difference. Kryssi made him his own little smash cake, which he sort of ate some but mostly just made a mess.

Came upstairs after putting the kids to bed one night to see this raccoon eating the cat food. Our cat just sat there and watched him.
