6 Months Old!

It is amazing how fast time flies. It seems like just yesterday we were headed to the hospital and now it has already been six months. Lucas turned six months yesterday and had his doctors appointment. He had more shots, which he didn’t like, but he gets a lot more upset just getting checked by the doctor. He now weighs 14 lbs. and is 26 in. long, so he is still a little guy but he is healthy and that is what matters.

In this picture he is in the same outfit that his dad wore when he was six months. And even though I was a lot bigger, the clothes still fit Lucas perfectly!

Lucas loves being with his mom and he lights up every time he sees her (not that I can blame him!)

After Christmas!

I forgot my camera over Christmas so I didn’t get many pictures so I’ll have to get some my mom took and put on here but here is some I took in the few days since Christmas.  We had a really good holiday even though the roads weren’t the best and we worried whether or not we would be able to see all our family but it all turned out okay.

Standing up on mom’s lap.  He has some strong legs.

Lucas sitting on mom’s lap.  He has had this crooked smile lately that is pretty cute!

Trying on his new hat and mittens!

5 Months Old!

Lucas turned 5 months old today which is hard for us to believe.  It seems like just yesterday we were taking him home from the hospital and now he is rolling over and he can almost sit up on his own.

Lucas loves being with his mom.  He always smiles when he sees her.

He was being grouchy for these pictures but we got sort of a smile out of him.  Only problem was he was falling forward right as I took the picture!

Christmas Time at the Kotter’s!

We decorated our house with some Christmas decorations this past week and Lucas loved helping out.  He actually put a few ornaments on the tree, instead of just trying to eat them.

Our tree is pretty small but it fits right in at our apartment.

Lucas liked laying under the tree and reaching up for all the ornaments and branches.  He eventually got one of the branches in his mouth but he really didn’t like the needles poking him!

Lucas likes wearing his Santa hat, and we think he looks pretty cute in it!  He is still slobbering a lot, if you couldn’t tell.

Note On Video

I tried uploading videos via Blogger and couldn’t get it to work. So I loaded them into a YouTube account and then put them on this page. The only problem with this is it might take a little time to load for some people. The best thing I think is to let it load most of the way before watching it, that way it won’t keep starting and stopping as you watch it. So push play and then pause it, and let it load part way. Then watch and enjoy!

Lucas Rolls Over!

Here is a video of Lucas rolling from his back to his stomach. He needs a little motivation to do it in this video but he is now rolling almost everytime we put him down. It is impressive but since he doesn’t know how to roll back, he starts crying until we rescue him. Changing his diaper has become more of a task as well!

Back From Thanksgiving!

We spent Thanksgiving in Utah with family and it was a lot of fun.  I forgot to take any pictures though, so I’ll have to get some from my mom to post on here.  But Lucas did learn a few new tricks during the Thanksgiving break, which is pretty neat.  First he learned how to roll from his back to his stomach.  He has rolled from his stomach to his back a few times but he hasn’t really gotten the hang of it but this he is starting to do pretty regularly.  We actually just caught him doing it on tape, so once I have some time to edit it, I’ll put it up here.

And next, which isn’t as impressive, he learned how to spit and blow bubbles.  He has done it a lot before but he learned how to do it whenever he wanted, and he apparently wants to do it a lot!  It was a good thing we packed a lot of onesies.  But it was a good holiday for us and hopefully for everyone else as well.
