World Museum of Mining

We next drove to Butte and spent the night. The next morning we went to checkout the World Museum of Mining. It was kind of like an old preserved town, lots of buildings to look at. Also had a mineral exhibit and an old doll collection. Also had an actual mine tour but they don’t let kids under 5 do it so we had to pass on that.

Bannack State Park

We went on a little trip up to Montana for a few days. The first place we stopped was a ghost town that’s now Bannack State Park. There were lots of preserved buildings still here that we could walk through and it was fun to get a glimpse back in time.

Family fun day

After fishing, we stopped by Snake River’s Landing, as they were having a Family Fun Day. They were doing some family bike rides which we were going to participate in, but had no way to get all our bikes over there.

But they had a teddy bear clinic, where the kids got to choose a teddy bear, give him/her a name, then go through multiple stations, helping the teddy bear after he got in a bike wreck.

They also had lots of little games you could play to get prizes, free lunch, bouncy inflatables, and a bull ride.

McKinley really wanted to ride the bull, so we waited in line for quite a bit and then I think she was a little scared, but had fun anyway.

Father and sons

Lucas and I went to the Father and Sons campout a few weeks ago which was pretty fun. We’ve never had a ward that has actually done one that we were aware of, so it was nice to finally get to be part of one, as I have lots of good memories growing up going to Father and Sons campouts.

Lucas and I went on a couple hikes, played catch, had s’mores, saw a moose, and Lucas got to play with some of his friends. Our bishop gave a little thought at the end of the night around a big fire, which was a great way to end the day.

Mesa Falls

We went to Mesa Falls over Memorial weekend. It has been raining here for the better part of a couple weeks, so we weren’t sure the weather would hold up. It did rain a little on us at times but the worst of the rain happened while we were in the lodge at Mesa Falls, so we just barely missed it.
